In thispsalm 107 there is one verse that I think was part of the previous blog that stands out to me and I want to discuss it today even if I risk taking it from context. Verse 30 says, "Then they were glad because they had quiet and He brought them to their desired haven." It reminded me of the old hymn(there I go again on the old hymns)"the haven of rest". I have faced some storms in my life as all of us do from time to time, some uproars I call them; sickness, death, financial problems such as job losses, problems every parent faces raising families...we all face such things as humans. Life can be hard sometimes. And when that happens, you get tired and you need two things, two things that are as elusive as trying to catch a ray of sunlight in a basket...man! that's elusive. The two things you need in these troublesome hours is ...peace and quiet. Sometimes don't you just want to go home? The verse says, "He brought them to their desired haven.
We had a neighbor for just a short period of time(for which we were thankful) who liked loud music(if you could call it music). You know that ear splitting, ground shaking, window rattling boom boom stuff...same key all the time, you know the kind of thing I'm talking about. I'll tell you that we were glad when they moved out because we had quiet!!! This may be a little bit humorous but my point is served here because life is like that sometimes and the psalmist says that when they cried out to the LORD that they enjoyed peace and quiet...you say it doesn't say that. Maybe it doesn't say it just like that but that is what it means...peace and quiet...ya gotta love it. You can find rest in Him today...there are a couple of ladies who have just lost a loved one and I know that both of them have peace and quiet in their hearts because they know that their aunts are with the LORD. "He brought them to their desired haven."

"Then they were glad because they had quiet and He brought them to their desired haven." God can and does calm all our storms but not before his time.
Life is full of storms...some big some small but all storms never the less and all ours and how we come through these storms is up to us,we can sit and wait for the water to come and drown us or we can reach out our hand to God [who already has his hand out for us all the time ].We can all get our shelter from the storm....but first we must take it ,a storm shelter is no good to anyone if we don't go in.....take a good look at the people that can leave this LIFE [contented ]you will find that he or she has gone into the shelter and found REST .
