The church and it's benefit plan. When I was in the work force I had to be a union member and when the collective agreement was being negotiated, benefits were usually the top priority. Well it is the same in God's church...He has a high priority benefit plan for His people.

The other day Judy and I were having breakfast at a local truck stop and in walked two of our friends that we have known for many years, man and wife. So in the course of our conversation and speaking of her health, she said something to us that really caught hold of my spirit. These five words are found in Psalm 103 vs3 "forget not all His benefits." Just five words yet they spoke volumes to me , "Forget not all His benefits" The church is blessed by His benefits, in fact that is the only way that a person can be a partaker of this plan, you have to be a member. You may ask just what kind of plan is this benefit package? What are the benefits?
The answer or at least part of the answer is found right in the contract but you need to rad the fine print...look at Psalm 103 vs.3 "Who forgives all your iniquities (that's the fine print....you can find it in the gospel of John also in ch. 3 vs 3 "you must be born again" Back to Psalm 103 vs 4(b) "Who heals all your diseases."Vs. 4-6 says that He "redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles."I particularly like the benefits of verses 10 - 12 "He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth , So great is His mercy to ward those who fear Him,; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
You need to read the whole chapter in it's entirety to get the whole package; I've just touched on some highlights.
Every now and then I throw myself a personal pity party...pity parties are best when you are alone...nobody else comes anyway. Ever do that? "Forget not all His benefits"; and there is no place for pity parties...thank you sister Donna for that good word from Psalm 103....it made my day!!

Hi Randall'
The benefits of being in God's
family are so many that we can't list them all today.
But once again you have touched on the ones that I need.
He redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.
This is one that I know He has done for me,and even if I forget sometimes that He has redeemed me
He lets me come to Him again and He showes me that loving kindness every time.
I am thankful that He does not deal
with us according to our sins
or punish us according to our iniqities and that He does not say
the first time you sin you will be forgiven but the next time you will be lost.Thank God for His mercy because we would all be lost
without it.

Hi Randall, wow....i guess i have never looked at Jesus as having a 'benefits package'. I know He has done so much for us and has a plan for each and everyone of us. There is so many benefits, how do we name them all? It goes beyond what we can imagine. All i am sure of is that i know im a sinner, but im thankful enough that Jesus took my sin to the cross the day He died for me...for all of us. We dont need to feel condemned. He has forgiven us. We need to focus on what He has in store for us. Forget the things we have done and look at how far we have come to where we are right now. Im so excited because I know Jesus has something in store for me....for all of us!!
