The church at war/ part seven: The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, the Bible tells us but they are mighty through God; perhaps we should read it from 2 Cor.10:4, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal(fleshly weapons) but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds"

Someone reading this may wonder just what are strongholds and why do we have to fight them? These are good questions and there is a list in Colossians ch. 3 vs. 5 that says, "Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry." These of course are only a few strongholds in our lives that we have to battle and put them out of our lives, in fact put them to death it says in Colossians...now that is what happens in wars is it not? The church is at war but not with people.

When you go to war you have to be prepared or you will lose...big time. Our captain is Jesus (He is also the General and the Commander in chief) and He has given us an impenetrable armor to protect us and all powerful weapons to win this war...Ephesians 6 vs 10 through 18...Ephesians 6:10-18 (New King James Version)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Be strong today in His mighty power...get this Word and let it penetrate

Good day,
As I readed the blog it made me think about what we are at war with
{the devil}.Sometimes the hardest
war we fight are in our minds,
because he tells us that we are not
good enough,or that we can't live
up to what God wants from us.
Your word today made me remember
that we have all the weapons we
need, and we can stand up against
the evil of this world.
In my case the helmet is what I need.I need to remember to full my mind with the word and not give the devil any room to get in.
He has away of bringing back things
that you have put behind you and
trying to bring you down with them.
We each have our own thing that he will try to use against us, so keep
strong.
C.M.

There was a time, not so long ago, that I didn't even understand what strongholds meant - as concerning the Christian. It is not complimentary to the church but during the past decade, I have become aware of what strongholds means. Unfortunately, I found them in the church.

But God - is greater than any stronghold - and when I have encountered them, I have had to acknowledge just what you have reminded us, that the builder of the stronghold is not people but satan himself. And, we are not just conquerors but MORE THAN conquerors - with God.
