Wake up and smell the coffee....I am a debtor...I have been praying of late for a couple of situations where there are hurting people and this morning as I was e-mailing one person to encourage him, my eyes fell on these verses in the book of Romans. Chapter 13 and verses 6-14: Owe no man anything except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "you shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself." Love does no harm to a neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. " This is the first part of the equation and ends at verse 10.
The second part says, beginning with verse 11: "And do this knowing the time, that now it is high time to awaken out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness, and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." This scripture says to all who name Christ as Savior...wake up! We have been sleeping and it is time to wake up And love your neighbour as yourself. The night is long gone and it's daytime, we've wasted too much time already, so let's get busy for God. There's a hurting world and it needs to see some real love; the love of God and the only way it can see that love is in the life of a Chrisdtian. There is no law that can stop us loving one another; loving people is God's way. So wake up and smell the coffee.
