We are using the text found in Proverbs 18:10 for this series and I'm inviting Naida to contribute a blog, when she finds the time and I am calling these several blogs the "tower "
series. Proverbs says "The name of the Lord is a strong tower You can run into it and be safe. The Bible says in Isaiah ch. 9 vs. 6, that one of HS names is Prince of Peace.
This world seeks for peace and cannot seem to find any peace. Even the peace brokers can't find peace. I think of the time and money spent by the U.S. for example in the Middle East and today those countries are as far apart as ever. Canada gained respect from other nations as a peace keeping nation and yet today we are at war in Afghanistan. And I don't say we should or should not be there. We are not at peace in this world and there will never be peace until the Prince of Peace comes back and He has promised that He will do so.
However you can have peace if you allow the Prince of Peace to come into your heart. And you have that peace when you surrender your life to Him. He is a strong and mighty tower that we can run into. Perhaps the Prince of Peace is already living in your heart but you are not feeling all that peaceful today due to circumstances and trials that have come into your life. Maybe you are hurting.
And you can't change that but you can let Him have His way in you. It's easier said sometimes than done, but you can allow Him to take control of your thoughts and actions. Just ask Him to give you His peace today; it is yours for the asking. Listen to His promise and claim it from John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." That's the Prince of Peace talking , not me. Trust Him for His peace today.
Oh yes, forgiveness brings peace, whether you need forgiveness or you need to give it to someone and that may include yourself. Forgive and receive forgiveness. Remember the name of the Lord is a strong tower. His name is Prince of Peace.

We like the rest of the world are always searching for peace and like the rest world,just don't seem to be able to find it or able to keep it once we do .
The way I see it is Iam a country at war with myself,this kind of war can never be won,I find my peace,but soon lose it,thus the war starts all over again,in order to find peace,we need a peace-maker,in order to keep peace we need a peace-keeper,but like the rest of the world, Iam to blind{stupid} I think most times to stupid to know we have one,in JESUS,but the devil is a warlord and is the very best at what he does,if we try to fight without Jesus we don't stand a chance we lose,oh sometimes it seems like we win but we don't,its only a temporary truce,and this is where we need a peace-keeper but the peace-keeper does such a good job that in no time at all we don't need him any more,another mistake,and in comes the devil again,why don't we get smart,and keep our peace,peace-maker and our peace-keeper [JESUS] who is always with us.

Your blog has been helping me to keep my focus on God and trying to keep from worrying about my circumstances. He is our strong tower and I have been trying to look up scriptures that will help me. One I have been claiming is 2 COR.4:8 for I have felt pressed on all sides, but His word tells me I will not be crushed. Another one I found when I first started reading your blog about forgiveness was Ps. 139:23:24 .For if we are going to run to the tower we must get right with Him. If we do not let God search our heart and let Him lead us away from our offensive ways how can we find peace. You are right when you said that we can't change our circumstances but we must start giving control to God.Today I am asking for God's peace once more in my life, and trusting Him for it.

Im not a person who likes to go get on ferris wheels and other rides at the fair, but lately I have felt like I have been on this massive roller coaster that doesnt stop and just keeps on going. When Im at the top of the roller coaster, I feel closest to God and then it starts going down really fast, then I feel like its coming to a stop, then Im on my way back up again. I know that there is peace in the midst of the storm, but i cant seem to grasp it. Jesus is all i have to hang on to. I just hope and pray that Jesus gives me peace so I can be where I want and need to be with him.
I know it is not protocol to comment on your own blog but I feel that some of the comments of late require a word of encouragement. I'm not saying which comments I am referring to either but it looks to me that there is a struggle going on in some of our lives...a struggle btween good and evil. The Apostle Paul in Romans addresses this problem in ch. 7 starting with vs.14 from the NIV for easier understanding..."We know tat the law is spirirual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but (rather) what I hate I do."
Skip down to vs 21. "So I find a law at work. When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law, but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin working in my members.vs 24...What a wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-------through Jesus Christ our Lord!So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature, a slave to the law of sin"
Romans 8:1, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus BECAUSE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
